There are many ways to give and many causes worthy of your time, talents or money. I’m trying to make a list of as many as I can find. Please post them in the comments below, and share this thread so that your friends and family can do the same. The greatest joy comes from giving. ‘Tis the season!
I know that many like to give in ways they’ll be able to see….or to observe the impact. But there’s another thing to consider- how big an impact your dollars might have. I learned about give well (www.givewell.org) a few years ago. Their research is impressive and they’ve ranked worldwide charities in the order of how many lives are saved by each dollar you give. So we give the biggest chunk of our money to them each year - while still spreading some around our community. We love the family crisis center of the big bend, Frontier CASA, and Alpine Montessori School.
